Phuket Deals Team Close To A Relocation To Phuket

Joel from the Phuket Deals team is getting ready to make a relocation back to Phuket in about 6-8 months and while we are helping him arrange Visa’s, helping him find a nice place to live and all the other things you need to worry about when moving from one country to another we thought it might help other people who are considering a move to Phuket or any other part of Thailand if we put up some of our experiences. First some background on why Joel is going back to Phuket – While he would never admit it, Joel has a particular girl that he struggles to get over and we believe that is the main reason for the relocation. If you ask Joel why he is moving back though he will tell you it is so he can enjoy the weather (its cold often in Sydney and he hates that), he will tell you it is because the cost of living is so much cheaper and the nightlife is always crazy fun! While his reasons are good, we still believe he is going back in the hope a particular girl and himself might work if he is their long term (Her name is Poy or Piano).

The first things we have looked at to help Joel sort out his relocation is a nice apartment. While many websites advertise 1 bedroom fairly decent sized apartments for 30-40,000 baht a month, the truth is you can get an apartment that’s fairly large with a separate living area and kitchen for about 15,000 to 20,000 baht per month. We have found one that is about 1km from Bangla Rd so nights out will be fine because walking him should be no more than 10minutes (20 if he drinks a lot). He will be close to the main shopping center and have easy access to everything he could need like restaurants. The apartment has 24 hour security and a gym (because he needs a gym lol).

Travel Insurance is the next thing to worry about and while Phuket Deals has some great prices for long and short term travel insurance, Joel has realized he can get it even cheaper if he goes through his private health company in Australia so that is what he has opted to do. Joel has decided against a bike because he will be close to everything he needs and should a car be needed for the day he will be fine to rent 1 and if he stays longer than 1 year he will buy a car.
Joel is going to get a 1 year Visa that includes Thai Lessons so he can really learn the language and get as much out of Phuket as possible. If all this sounds fantastic then the Phuket Deals team think you should comment below and ask any questions you might have about a relocation to Thailand. Considering how many members of the team have lived and worked in Phuket, you can be sure we will be able to help answer any questions you might have.

Please come to us because we are happy to help and much friendlier then the people on Thai Visa!
